Borg: 'Nadal is an artist! ' From Meters. Thanks.

Despite the reality he had his record of French Open titles stolen with the Spaniard last year, Björn Borg is usually fulsome in his compliment of Rafael Nadal, who added a seventh crown to his incredible record not too long ago. The Swede, a six-time receiver in Paris, not only warmly congratulated Nadal with his seventh Roland Garros success but hopes that your Matador from Manacor goes on to win a host of additional. And with Rafa having just bagged his 55th title in the ATP Masters 1000 within Madrid (and 40th on clay surfaces no less), he was in pole position according to Borg to help make it eight triumphs at the Porte d'Auteuil in a few weeks' time. Yes, Borg is that which you could call an unconditional Nadal fan…

Björn, what do you consider of the Big Four (Djokovic, Federer, Murray and Nadal) in which are currently dominating men's hockey?

First of all, I'd like to say that I'm delighted that Nadal is back, that he is playing again finally. He's a very fundamental figure for tennis typically. He has a really strong personality and whatever he does, he creates a buzz around tennis definitely coming on court. In terms of Roger, I hope that quite possibly be around for another few years. As far as I am concerned, he is the greatest player of them all. Djokovic is the perfect player there is at the present time, and he's certainly turned out that, and Murray's up there as well. The rivalry between these kind of four guys is wonderful, and it's exactly precisely what tennis needs.

Nadal is currently 26 yr old which is the age were you to when you decided to give that up tennis. And he looks like he might carry on smashing every single clay-court record in existence…

He's incredible – he's is the foremost player that there has most people have struggled on clay! Watching him play on this subject surface and how one is evolving… At least he's injured most of the time, which gives sub-par ones a ray of hope! On clay though, he's still the man to beat – and that can be the case provided that he is playing. We saw that at Monte Carlo and that's not going to improve at Roland Garros, where it's best-of-five sets out on Centre Court! He's sole ever lost there once, remember… There's no-one a lot better than him on this surface area! People don't realise this – maybe everyone has been spoilt up to a point. Rafa's quite simply an artist in regards to clay!

I'm not surprised of which Nadal has managed a come-back along these lines. If he didn't enjoy the motivation, he wouldn't have bothered ever coming back. He still wants to be able to win and I reckon that he can win some more Grand Slams – hands and wrists crossed, health and conditioning permitting. But he's an imaginative man and he been to the circuit for long enough now to be familiar with what he can and additionally can't do. I repeat, he's the man so that you can beat in Paris, and I'm really longing for watching him there. You may still see his hunger for victory. He's still enjoying it and enjoying yourselves. And as I say, getting the better from him on clay is… well, complicated (laughs).

I was delighted with regard to him. I know Rafa and I prefer him very much as a person. He really is an effective guy, and I was the first to congratulate him! Let's hope he'll win many much more, starting with his 9th French Open title this coming year! He's incredible, both as a player and a person.
