The southern area of 500 2013 Results: Reaction, Leaders and Post-Race Analysis.

Matt Kenseth came on missed to win the 2013 Bojangles Northern 500. He overcame teammate Kyle Busch with just 12 laps to see grab the win.

The race was pick-up until the 300th clapboard, but anyone who made comments about no caution flags likely jinxed the race.

Kyle seemingly had this town wrapped up until his handling appeared to fail him late. Kenseth had been there to pounce, and he gutted out a tough win.

Kurt Busch got off for a great start. He was on a blistering place at Lap 50. He led the pack for the whole race up to now with a slight advantage over his brother Kyle.

Kurt continued to master the pace early concerning. Kyle stayed in dazzling distance, but he couldn't get the best of his older brother in the first 73 laps.

Upon Lap 74, Kyle passed Kurt to move into the top identify. Perhaps he was just biding his time, but he overcame a fantastic gap after the first pit stop taking the lead.

Kenseth was among the list of drivers I expected to become a major factor here. They took the No. 20 automotive into second place, but Kyle maintained his lead following second set of hole stops through 100 laps.

Right after an immaculately run race, the first caution flag appeared in the 125th lap due to debris in the track. It didn't disturb Kyle whatsoever; he continued to point the pack.

Kurt had fallen spine significantly after firing away at the start from the pole position. But it appeared some Busch would still collect the win in Darlington.

Jason Gordon, the man on his 700th NASCAR operate, briefly took the lead for the 200th lap. He pitted a several laps earlier than the vast majority of drivers, but by the 202nd lap, Kyle have regained the lead.

As the race neared the 300-lap mark, the Sprint Cup standings tops Jimmie Johnson had moved into second place. The defending champion was sure to remain heard from before this race was done, in addition to though Kyle maintained this lead, Johnson was trying to apply some pressure.

Challengers continued to look at their shot at wresting that lead from Kyle, but couldn't apply it through 400 laps. Your dog turned back Kasey Kahne, Johnson and Kenseth—for the instant.

It seemed fuel conservation would become a major concern, but dealing with is what cost Kyle this race. In the previous 50 laps, the Simply no. 18 car just didn't perform.

Kenseth ultimately passed Kyle by using just 12 laps going. It was all down for the latter at this stage. Kenseth deserves credit designed for his perseverance, but owes some adore to Kyle's car.

Kyle would lose some sleep finished this sixth-place finish. It seemed although coast to a win, and it has to get frustrating when the car simply won't help you win.

Kenseth's second win in the season is a huge step toward making him a significant player in the Run Cup standings for the rest of the season. We may look back at this race later in the year as the turning stage for Kenseth.
