Strategy expectations dashed with Mario GAtze to leave Borussia Dortmund and join... - Telegraph.co.uk

The Bundesliga champions confirmed today the targeting midfielder would join them on July 1 after they consented to meet up with the launch clause in his agreement. But their obvious insufficient contact with the selling team within the offer has angry Dortmund, who earlier in the day unmasked Gotze's representative had informed them the 20-year-old wished to go on to the Allianz Arena, but stressed they'd heard nothing official from the Bavarians. In announcing the offer, Bayern said they'd kept silent "out of consideration" for Dortmund's Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid tomorrow night. Dortmund pointed out that Gotze served appropriately all the time. Gotze was under contract at Dortmund until 2016, together with his launch term reportedly set at a37 million (A31.5m), meaning he will end up being the most costly German person ever. Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke explained on the club's website: "We are demonstrably disappointed beyond measure, but stress that both Mario and his advisors have operated within the conditions of the contract." The moment of the announcement is obviously not even close to ideal for Dortmund, coming merely a day before their first-leg meeting with Jose Mourinho's Madrid. However the membership have called for fans to aid Gotze and the rest of the participants while they find a spot in the Wembley final against Bayern or Barcelona. A Dortmund statement said: "Coach Jurgen Klopp and sporting director Michael Zorc requires all supporters of Borussia Dortmund to support Mario Gotze unconditionally while they would any other player in the remaining activities of the year, but especially in the crucial Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid." Losing Gotze, especially with their nearest domestic rivals, would be a huge strike to Dortmund. Klopp's side recently relinquished the Bundesliga name they won in all of the past two seasons with Bayern winning the 'salad bowl' in record time. Gotze has emerged together of the very desired participants in European football because coming through the ranks at Dortmund and making his Bundesliga introduction in November 2009. A key role was played by him as Dortmund won back-to-back Bundesliga crowns and has made 22 shows for Germany, score five goals. In January, Bayern introduced former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola can succeed Jupp Heynckes as manager come july 1st, having signed a three-year deal. Gotze quickly came in for heavy criticism from irate Dortmund fans, who placed messages on his official Facebook page. And Lothar Matthaus, won eight Bundesliga games with Bayern, believed they had every right to feel upset. "The fans feel betrayed," he said. "The remarks Mario Gotze manufactured in the recent past (about attempting to keep at Dortmund) do not make him legitimate. This damages the whole of football. "Anybody with bizarre views may now think back to the (Champions League) quarter-final against Malaga. "Gotze was a major player and lost six or eight big odds. He revealed this whole matter and nerves then has certainly been developing for a while. Maybe now it is merely a aid for him that it is out in the open." On the time of the statement, just before the Madrid clash, Matthaus said: "It is not fair, it's unbelievable." (Edited by Giles Mole)
