Kevin Davies opens up about agreement situation in radio interview

Early in the day today, Bolton reported that Kevin Davies will not spend a tenth subsequent period with Bolton Wanderers. Dougie Freedman said that Davies "is and always is a Wanderers legend" and as stories generally go, they have a tendency to disappear. There's no question that Super Kevin Davies does not have the feet that he once did, although he's shown flashes of his old home on a number of events in recent times. The news has been burdensome for many Bolton supporters to take. Kevin Davies has only created a appearance on talkSPORT's drivetime program, explaining the situation: "I am not going to be a supply of a contract next year. I'm a little shocked in all honesty with you. I was a little surprised during the time and it is not quite sunk in yet. "I have had a couple of sit-downs and I think I've been here for so long. I have been here so long and you want to get yourself a sense for what's happening next year. "It is surprising, to be honest because I've been here for such a long time. "I thought I'd be as of this club until I retired and begin teaching and doing that afterwards." Kevin was also asked in regards to the chance of leaving Bolton Wanderers in today's mortgage window: "There is the possibility of heading out on mortgage in the next couple of days and if that doesn't happen, I'll wait until the summer. "Over the years, I've had clubs can be found in and I have always turned them away because I've been pleased with the club. "I can maintain keeping my head up high with what I have done for Bolton. "Nothing lasts forever. "I need certainly to hold my mind up for the remaining portion of the year. I think it is going to be difficult for me to be involved. "I have created 38 appearances and still doing things that younger kids are doing in training and I can still do it at this stage. I have had several clubs searching and looking to get your hands on me. "It hurts today but ideally by the end of the summer season, I will have a brand new challenge ahead of me."
