Barcelona target Borussia Dortmund star Hummels - talkSPORT.com

Manchester United and Arsenal will face a fight with Barcelona to land Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels this summer.

Speculation has been rife regarding the Germany international's future at the Bundeliga side, with the Premier League pair to keen to land the 24-year-old.

But the Catlan giants have also come in to the running after president Sandro Rosell admitted the club are keeping a close eye on one particular player in Germany.

Barca are expected to sign a new centre-back this summer, with their options in that position limited - and a long-term replacement for Carles Puyol required.

The classy defender would fit into Barca's footballing philosophy and has himself admitted that a move to the Nou Camp would appeal to him.

And, during an interview with German broadcasters ZDF, Rosell, the president of the Catalan giants, revealed he is keeping an eye on one particular Bundesliga ace.

Although he did not confirm he was talking about Hummels - indeed there are a number of players in Germany that may interest Barca - reports in the country claimed he was speaking about the Borussia man.

Rosell confirmed: "There is a German player I like a lot, but I can not say his name because it will only drive his price up."
