Beauty queen tells of life with Papiss Cisse - ChronicleLive

He's Newcastle United's No. 9 - she's his No. 1 and last night gorgeous Rachelle Graham revealed just how far she'll go to stand by her man.

Rachelle and the £10m-plus striker have been together for around six months but bubbly Rachelle laughed off suggestions of an engagement on the cards and insisted: "It's a bit early for an engagement - I'm too young."

Rachelle, of Edmundbyers, in County Durham, is to skydive 10,000ft from a plane to raise money for Cisse's charity, Friends of Sedhiou.

The money raised by the 21-year-old, who was crowned Miss Newcastle last May, will go towards funding a specially equipped ambulance and on furnishing a hospital in Sedhiou, Cisse's home town.

The daredevil model, who runs Poppy's sandwich and cafe bar in posh Ponteland on the outskirts of Newcastle, said: "His agent introduced me to the man who looks after the charity and it all began from there. Ever since I won Miss Newcastle I have always wanted to do a skydive for charity and so I decided to do it for Papiss's charity.

"With me being Papiss's girlfriend it means it's a lot closer to my heart. I will be helping children who are less well off than we are and it makes it all worth while."

She said: "I'm hoping to go over in June when they buy a new ambulance. I would like to meet the people over there. Papiss will be going back to Sedhiou in May after the football to see his family.

She said: "Everything is going really well. We go out for a lot of meals and I go to all the home games. I'd never been to a match before I met Papiss. I never watch it if he's not playing.

"He's not a big fan of cooking and we tend to go out most nights for food. We normally go to the same restaurant every night.

"There have been a few times when we have been out and people have come across and asked for pictures and autographs and he really doesn't mind.

"He is a really nice lad and everybody always comments on his smile. You never see him not smiling. He's always a really happy person."

Cisse, who signed for Newcastle from Bundesliga side SC Freiburg in January 2012, has scored 10 goals so far this season.

She said: "It was a bit of a nightmare at the beginning. I could speak a little bit of French but I hadn't really practiced since I left school. He can now speak English now. I think I must have helped him out a bit.
