Ajax specialized director Marc Overmars is unconcerned by Manchester City's alleged fascination with head mentor Frank de Boer, reports De Telegraaf. The 42-year-old was recently connected with the Etihad Stadium hot-seat, and though acknowledging he was flattered to be stated in the same air as the ruling Premier League winners, stayed totally dedicated to completing the plan at the Amsterdam Arena. With Ajax the top of Eredivisie - three points clear of PSV Eindhoven - speculation surrounding the long-term future of De Boer is clearly unwelcome. Overmars is confident that the Dutch legend may stay in his homeland for the near future, nevertheless, and intimated that De Boer's agent might be the source of rumours connecting him with Manchester City. "I am maybe not afraid at all. He told De Telegraaf perhaps if they [Manchester City] come for De Boer in two years,". "Everyone understands the situation, but I think his agent is simply hyping the matter." And, after confirming that the membership has already opened negotiations to extend the contracts of assistant manager Dennis Bergkamp and academy instructor Wim Jonk, talks are expected by Overmars with De Boer to follow. "We are now actually working on extending the contracts of Wim Jonk and Dennis Bergkamp," he explained. "We desire to complete that first before we take a seat and consult with De Boer." Meanwhile, Roberto Mancini seems to be facing an uncertain future as a number of different titles remain connected with the Manchester City job, following the Italian's expected failure to keep the domestic title, and party point removal from the Champions League.
